NEW Construction Project Close-Out
Closing out of a construction project, continues to be one of the most challenging stages for any general contractor or subcontractor. The desire to complete the job successfully, while engaging in securing the next project are often times competing interests. This is true of the entire supply chain; top to bottom.
TCIC has taken time to understand this dilemma, engaged professionals from major contracting firms who work in the industry every day to contribute their expertise. TCIC has built an effective e-learning course designed to give a student tools they can deploy in their daily workflow to increase the chances of success at this crucial time of any construction project. In this course, you will experience 4 modules of learning over 4 hours:
Module 1: Introduction: Understanding the key challenges around project close out
Module 2: Pre Construction Phase: Internal hand over, shop drawings, and personnel requirements needed beginning to end
Module 3: Construction Phase: Clearly understanding your contract, be collaborative with your subcontract and supplier team, to ensure success
Module 4: Post Construction Phase: Warranties and total completion to secure final payment and holdback
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify requirements to meet substantial performance and total performance by definition, understand the contents of Document 100 – a joint consensus paper by the OAA and OGCA surrounding project close-out, commissioning strategies, and of key importance, identifying roadblocks to completion that will result in payment delays.

Testing: A quiz will occur at the end of each Module. A Pass of 75% is required to obtain your certificate of completion.
