We're thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Stawowski McGill team, Bob Sartor, stepping in as a Senior Advisor! With a wealth of experience spanning multiple industries, Bob brings invaluable expertise to the table. We’re excited to introduce Bob to our incredible network! In order to get to know Bob a bit better, we asked him a few questions: If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? If I could choose to do anything for a day it would be to have a family reunion with the entire Sartor/Bon clan from far and wide.  What is your favourite game or sport to watch and play? My favorite sport to watch is football. I played a lot of basketball and squash growing up but in my latter years when time permits I ski in winter and hike and climb during the summer months. Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? I’ve never had a nickname but my siblings still call me what they called me when I was a little fellow - Bobby. How would your friends describe you? I think that my friends would describe me as loyal, trustworthy and straight forward. Oh, and also competitive! What are your hobbies? With a farming and winemaking business and six grandchildren to spend time with, there is little time for other hobbies. What is the best gift you have been given? I know that this might sound corny but the best gift that I have ever had was my spouse’s proposal of marriage ( yes she popped the question! ). We have been together 44 years, had three great children and now six grandchildren. It doesn’t get any better than that. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? It would have to be a character actor like Anthony Hopkins who has had a very diverse career, much like mine. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? Over the years my morning routine has evolved to one of precision. Typically 20 minutes is all it takes to get ready for the work day. Weekends are a little more relaxed, of course. What's your favourite family recipe? My favourite family recipe is a toss up between ravioli or gnocchi.

We're happy to announce our new Associate, Cat Bootle, joining the Stawowski McGill team! Cat is a CPA with Big Four and industry experience. Cat has accumulated experience across industries including upstream and downstream oil & gas, real estate, private wealth management, non-profit, and the public sector. In her spare time, Cat enjoys spending time with her family and her two pets, and doing home renovation projects. She also has a passion for quilting and sewing and is always working on a blanket or a bag in her downtime. She is also learning to golf, and is looking forward to spending more time out of the city and on the course as much as she can. We're are excited to have Cat join our growing team and to introduce her to our amazing network of people! 

Our team at Stawowski McGill would like to welcome our new Associate, Ivy Lorenzo, CPA! Ivy is an accounting professional joining us with experience in both a Big 4 firm and industry. She will be supporting and working closely with our advisors and clients. We are excited to introduce her to our network of amazing people! In order to get to know Ivy a bit better, we asked her a few questions: If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? Any time spent with my family and pets is a great day for me. I'm a big fan of game nights, trivia nights, and seeing comedy shows. What is your favourite game or sport to watch and play?  Basketball is my favorite sport to both watch and play (not well, I might add!) Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? Although my legal name is different, Ivy is what I've been called for as long as I can remember. How would your friends describe you? I have been described as funny and easy-going but an advocate when it matters. What are your hobbies? I play recreational basketball and have dabbled in martial arts. Not exactly hobbies but I also love seeing theatre/broadway shows and checking out new restaurants. What is the best gift you have been given? I was taken to a Michelin star restaurant in San Francisco for my 30th birthday - incredible experience!  How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? About an hour if my pets are not glued to me. What's your favourite family recipe? It is a Filipino soup served with rice called sinigang! Please help us welcome Ivy to the team!

New rums added to the bar this week. Dictador AU and Copeland Rum (Smugglers Reserve) which sounds cool to me. The first is from Columbia and the second is from Antigua. Both locations sound much more pleasant weather wise than what we are dealing with in Calgary today! Cheers!
